  1. Hi Ladies,

Loved your sock needle review. I’m the same: love metal and dpns. I recently got the Knitter’s Pride Carbonz and love the better grip, plus the 6″ length as most of my others are 8″. I have decided (with Stacie’s little nudge 😉 that it is time to “treat myself” to some Signature sock needles, 2.25 mm, as tomorrow is my b-day. I was wondering what your preferred length of sock dpns is? Also, I am a bit of a loose knitter; 1s work well for me but I’m wondering if you use a smaller needle (0s) for heels ever?
    thanks 🙂

    • Hi Dianne,
Thanks about the impromptu sock needle review. Happy birthday and you should treat yourself! I use 6″ for socks as I find the 5s too short. I have wondered about going down a needle size for the heel and maybe toe area as well to help with durability but I figure I should try a sock swatch to see if I would also need to alter the stitch count especially in the heel so it doesn’t pull in too much. It may not but it was a thought that occurred to me. Again, I hope your birthday is great!
      Warmly,
      Stacie
